Bank Card OCR for Mobile Apps

Thinking about adding bank card scanning to an app and saw OCR Studio’s solution. On-device processing and support for multiple card formats sound promising. But how reliable is the recognition when cards are bent or scratched? And does it play nicely with both iOS and Android camera APIs? If anyone has implemented it, please share your experience!

I’ve been exploring OCR Studio’s bank card scanning https://ocrstudio.ai/bank-card-scanner/ too, and the on-device processing is definitely a strong point for privacy-focused apps. In my tests it handles most standard cards well, and scratches or slight bends don’t kill recognition — though very heavy wear can still confuse the OCR (a second capture usually fixes it). It integrated smoothly with both iOS and Android camera APIs using their SDK, and performance on modern phones was fast with minimal lag. Overall it feels reliable, but real-world lighting still matters. Worth trying out!
