The Birds of San Juan Island
Inspired by the birds of San Juan Island, this 54-card oracle deck celebrates the wisdom, quirks, instincts, and quiet magic of the feathered beings who live here year-round or pass through during migration.

With more than 200 bird species found on the island, choosing just 54 was not easy. Some birds found their way into the deck because of personal encounters, like the Turkey Vulture. Others, like the Red-breasted Nuthatch, were chosen for their fascinating behaviors and the way those traits naturally connect to the message of the card.
Each card invites you to look more closely at the natural world and the guidance it offers. From Abundance and Lore to Cleverness, Boundaries, Adaptation, and Dreams, these birds become messengers, each carrying a message shaped by nature, observation, and the landscape of the island.

The artwork is finished and the guidebook completed in about two weeks. Pre-orders are open, and the deck is anticipated to begin shipping in mid-August.

Please note the decks on this site are not mass-produced, they are printed in small batches and hand-packed on San Juan Island, with current shipping timelines of 2–3 weeks.
In addition to illustrating the decks and writing the guidebooks, I also print each bag the decks go in by hand and pack each order with care for shipping. No conveyor belts and robots here. It's just me, working out of my garage, with the occasional company of my kiddo, a couple dogs, a cat, some foxes, a handful of noisy ravens, and a wandering deer here and there. I like to think that with each order I take into town for shipping that I am sending along a little bit of what makes this place so magical.
