Reversals? To read or not to read them; that is the question.
Here is my take on reading reversals.
High Priestess from
Unfinished Business a Ghostly Tarot
If you watch my daily readings for the collective, you probably have noticed I don't read "reversals"; instead, I let my intuition guide me as to the message my guides are offering when presenting me with each card. I tune into the energy and read what I feel. This is why I focus heavily on infusing each card with energy when I make my decks. My goal with every deck is for you to feel the card's vibration and read from there. It is here that the partnership with your guides is formed. Just as there are words in English that mean one thing in the US and something totally different in the UK, my guides speak to me using the vocabulary I understand. For example, imagine if someone who doesn't know you sent a message that read you need new trainers. You will be off to buy new running shoes in the UK, whereas here in the US, you might be on the hunt for a new coach. Your guides know you and will speak to you so that you understand. If my guides know this is my language and are loving, supportive entities, why wouldn't they talk with me in a language I understood?
Initially, I was drawn to Tarot over oracle cards when embarking on this journey because of each card's powerful energy, an energy that I found I could connect with. With 78 cards, there were plenty of opportunities for my guides to convey the message I needed. My approach to the Tarot is less strict than many traditional readers, primarily because I began this journey as means of connecting with my guides during a very tumultuous time. Our loving spirit companions aren't there to trip us up or provide false information because we don't speak "their" language. Our guides are here to help us navigate difficult situations not make matters worse.
My approach to reversals is this: If you agree with your guides that reversals are part of your communication, they will communicate using them; if not, they will speak without them. Receiving the information begins with creating a connection to your intuition. Aside from what direction the card is facing, what does your gut tell you? What message are you receiving when your mind is quiet, and your relationship with the divine is strong? At least, that is my opinion. Tarot and oracle decks are tools to tap into the Universe's energy. Just as spirit communicates using all of the languages in the world, the deck you choose tailors the messages to the individual.
For each card, you find a section that provides information on the positive and negative attributes connected to the energy. If you read reversals, this information will help you when communicating with your spirit guides. Either way, tap into the vibration of the card you hold, ask yourself does it feel balanced? Is something blocking this energy or causing it to feel overbearing or weakened?
